St. Pius X High School

Welcome to the website of St Pius X High School Adamstown

St Pius X HS is a junior, co-educational, Catholic secondary school, catering for students in Years 7 to 10. Our current enrolment is just over 1000 students. We belong to the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle Catholic School System.

Our High School is named after St Pius X, the first Pope of the Church canonised in the 20th Century. He is a very fitting patron of a modern high school because of his affinity with young people. The School crest (top left) is modelled on the Pope’s coat of arms.  The school motto ‘Instaurare Omnia in Christo’ (Renewing all things in Christ) reminds staff and students that everything we do, we do for Christ, with the aim of making our world a better place for all.

St Pius X High School has as its foundation the Gospel of Jesus Christ as expressed in the beliefs and traditions of the Catholic Church. We strive to be a community that is faithful to the Gospel values in word and action.

Our community is built on the promotion of mutual respect and we work to make our school one that encourages growth and achievement. St Pius is a place where students are encouraged to think for themselves, be confident and happy and to cultivate a balanced attitude to life. Our vision is a school community that is authentically Catholic, just, caring and sensitive to the needs of all its members and committed to inspiring all students to do their best.

I hope you enjoy your visit to our website and that you find all the information you need.  Please contact the school using the details provided in the "Contact Us" tab if there is anything else you need to know.  To get back to this Homepage from anywhere in the site just click on the school crest in the top left hand corner of the page you are on.

I take this opportunity to thank all the people who helped in the creation of this website.  The beautiful banner that appears at the top of each page in our site is the work of the late Mrs Trudy Pawlik.  Trudy was a much-loved and highly respected casual teacher at St Pius for many years.  The banner depicts symbols of life at St Pius X High School from a range of perspectives.

St Pius X High School is a place where all are welcome.
